ISSUE #7: Do I Deserve Success?

Welcome to Issue #7 of the Attracting Abundance Newsletter. I am going to play with the controversial question, Do I Deserve Success?.

The topic of whether we deserve success and abundance or not can be a little touchy for some people. Some of us think we haven't lived well enough or done enough good deeds to "deserve" our definition of success. Others don't feel worthy enough to be showered with financial abundance, excellent health, strong relationships or peace in this lifetime. Others are afraid if they deserve abundance, then that means others don't, or that if others have abundance, it means that they must not deserve it or else they would have evidence of it in their lives.

Sometimes these mental traps get very complex! From the years of study on this topic, the volumes of books and metaphysical texts I have read on this subject, and the hours of meditation and EFT I have practiced, I am here to tell you that, in my personal opinion, deserving is not the issue.

I would like to help you resolve this conflict once and for all. We all deserve success and abundance, but we don't all know how to allow success into our lives. So your assignment this month is to take the "Do I deserve success?" question off the table for debate! Hopefully, this newsletter will give you a good start to accomplish this. Since this is another pesky limiting belief, it will be exceptionally easy to neutralize with EFT.

Remember how the brain operates: It holds on to your beliefs and does everything in its power to look for and gather evidence that supports it, even if it needs to twist and distort the incoming data. I'm not kidding, this is how we stay safe and "make sense" of our world when we are wed to our convictions. And we are all wed to our convictions. When they loosen a little, it can be threatening to our overall system since it challenges how we see the world and the part we play in it.

So, take this newsletter's topic question, "Do I Deserve Success?" (which none of us would pose if we didn't have remnants of a "belief" that we aren't worthy or that we don't deserve prosperity), and neutralize it with EFT as I lead you through an exercise below.

Below you will find EFT Setup Phrases followed by two rounds (one negative and one positive) for this newsletter's topic, Do I Deserve Success?.


The EFT SETUP Phrases for this topic are as follows:

While tapping the karate chop spot on either hand, repeat these phrases out loud, (or change the words to fit your exact situation).

"Even though a part of me doesn't feel I deserve abundance, I choose to accept all of me anyway."

"Even though I don't believe I deserve success and abundance in my life, I am willing to consider changing this belief."

"Even though I'm convinced I'm not worthy and that's why I'm not receiving the peace and happiness I desire, I choose to accept all of me even the parts I don't accept!"

I have indicated where to tap while saying each of the phrases below. You may repeat this round more than once if you wish. (Those of you who are new to EFT may view a chart of the spots on my web site under the EFT pages.)

***Now, for the phrases that focus on the problem***

Eyebrow: "I'm not worthy because of my past."

Side of Eye: "I don't deserve success because of my family."

Under Eye: "I don't deserve prosperity because of who I am at the core."

Nose: "I feel defective and don't feel deserving."

Chin: "I don't think I'll ever feel worthy either."

Collarbone: "If I felt worthy, it would mean "they" were wrong about me."

Under Arm: "I haven't done enough and I know I'm not enough so I can't be one of those who deserves success."

Head: "I've never felt deserving, so why bother trying."

***Now for the positive focus on the solution***

Eyebrow: "I love changing my limiting beliefs."

Side of Eye: "I appreciate who I am now."

Under Eye: "I love realizing we ALL deserve success and abundance."

Nose: "I choose to believe I am worthy and so are you."

Chin: "I enjoy feeling so deserving and worthy of my desires, peace, and happiness."

Collarbone: "I am so relieved to know we are all deserving."

Under Arm: "I appreciate all the blessings I have in my life right now."

Head: "I love feeling grateful for all the blessings in my life."

Did you notice any resistance, any "Yes, but's..." surfacing? If you did, then tap another positive round, and add new words that suit your situation. If you heard yourself saying, "No, I'm not deserving or worthy, but they are..." then tap another positive round as follows:

I don't think I'm worthy...
Yes I do, and yes I am...
No I'm not worthy...
What if I am worthy enough?
What if you are worthy enough?
We all are worthy, I just didn't know it before...
I will consider changing this belief...
I am so relieved I am worthy enough to deserve success.

Then use the following extra tapping round (a variation from the last newsletter):

I love knowing it is possible...
I choose to believe in the guidance I am receiving...
I appreciate the changes I have already made...
I love feeling so free...
I wish I had known this years ago...
I feel freer already and appreciate my life...
I appreciate exactly who I am...
I am so grateful for my newfound belief in prosperity.



I recommend you try the GRATITUDE INTERVIEW as a new tool or game. Of course this is just a variation on the theme of the Gratitude List and Gratitude Walk, both of which I continue to recommend as daily practices for attracting abundance into your life.

The GRATITUDE INTERVIEW will help those of you who need more "interaction" to express your appreciation.

  1. Choose someone you wish to interview you.
  2. Write out a list of questions they "could" ask you to which you would respond very enthusiastically with your appreciation.
  3. Pretend they are asking you a list of questions about why you feel grateful in your life.
  4. **Answer out loud with as much enthusiasm as you can muster!**
Some sample questions from your "interviewer" might be:
  1. Tell me what friends you appreciate in your life.

  2. What do you appreciate about your home?

  3. Explain to me why you are so happy right now.

  4. Tell me what financial situations you feel grateful for at this time.

  5. What do you love about your family right now?

  6. What makes you feel peaceful during the day?


Another EFT tip I enjoy is to talk very loudly, or shout while you perform your rounds of EFT. This seems to lend strength and effectiveness to the affirmation statement for those of you who try to get away with reciting it without any feelings! If this brings up emotions, great, you have more to tap on.
